With the Autumn season coming to an end, we enter our final two weeks of Shiny Wars 2026! Crimson Core is currently sitting at 120th on the Official PokeMMO SW Leaderboard, whilst Crimson Collective find themselves at 190th. It was a week to remember for BraggingKnight, who gave the Collective team a plethora of points all in one day and earned them some "Bragging Rights" by getting himself a Shiny hat trick! With more Shinies coming in, this Shiny Wars is definitely ramping up for both teams!

📸 Social Moment of the Week

This week's moment belongs entirely to BraggingKnight. On August 12th, he hit not one, not two, but three shinies within five hours - an instant hat trick that sent the Collective voice chat into absolute chaos.

The cherry on top? The third shiny - a Golett - appeared just 60 encounters after catching Koffing. Nobody saw it coming. BraggingKnight himself could barely believe it. This is the kind of moment Shiny Wars memories are made of, and it will go down in Crimson Core history.

🎙️ Player Interviews

This week's interviews are with the Crimson Core MVP RainySea and BraggingKnight of Crimson Collective.

RainySea Crimson Core - Week 2 MVP
You are top of the leaderboard for Crimson Core as of now - can you tell us how it feels?
Rainy: "Being on top of the leaderboard is a huge honour because I know the whole team is grinding as much as I am and everyone is putting a lot of time, Pokedollars and efforts into the game."
Out of all the shinies you caught so far, which one is your favorite?
Rainy: "My most favourite shiny I got so far is definitely my Treecko. It's not only my first ever bred shiny but also my very first shiny ever and a huge milestone after accidentally killing my first shiny Pidgey encounter after 66k dry streak. After that Pidgey I ran another 55k encounters dry so my Treecko was basically the reward for the last 4 months of grinding Pokedollars and Dittos to prepare for the currently ongoing Shiny Wars to help the team as much as I can."
What has been your primary shunting technique so far? (Egging, hordes, fishing, etc)
Rainy: "My favourite shunting method for sure is X5 horde shunting to increase numbers fast and to reduce time between shiny encounters as much as possible. I started making my shunting plan for every season just before the SW event has started on August first. Strategy was to find the best possible routes for all 4 seasons that give the most possible points for the team to secure a high spot in the rankings."
Do you have any planned shunts for the next season coming up?
Rainy: "My plan for winter is to shunt for Cubchoo and Cryogonal inside cool room at Twisted Mountain (Unova). Afterwards I will go for Jynx/Delibird at Ice Path (B1F, Johto) and if I get lucky to hit 2 shinies from these locations, I will move to Moor of Iccirus to - fingers crossed - catch a shiny Croagunk, which is one of my favourite Pokémon."
If you could be any Pokémon, which would you be and why?
Rainy: "If I could be any Pokémon, I'd definitely want to be a Kecleon. Kecleon is the master of camouflage and only visible to those that are chosen by Kecleon. With that being said, I would only show up for the people that I like the most and hide for the others."
What was your favorite moment from this week?
Rainy: "My favourite moment for this week is not a specific moment but the whole time since the event started. Everybody is so supportive and nice. When a team member loses hope and have doubts, members encourage to move forward and give a good feeling to those who need it."
Anything else you want to say before we wrap up?
Rainy: "Before we wrap up I want to thank everyone who has helped building up a strong team like Crimson Core and our academy. I want to thank the leadership's, Officers and administrators for all the time you put in to build a great website, an awesome discord server, to recruit members and to support newbies with their first steps and help them growing. I want to thank all members of both participating shiny wars teams for the great battle and all the efforts you put into to help a new build team being so competitive already. I also want to thank everyone who just joined and help the team out with Ditto boxes, charms, Leppa berries and with just being around and being supportive in any way possible. You all help to make an awesome team even more awesome. Thank you all."
Editor's Note It's been absolutely incredible to see how many shinies Rainy has got and filling up the spots on his Shiny Wall. An absolute machine. - HeavyBreathing
BraggingKnight Crimson Collective - Hat Trick Hero
So on August 12th you managed to hit a hat trick of shinies - can you share what your reaction was like?
BraggingKnight: "Honestly, it didn't feel real. Getting one shiny is exciting, but finding three in a single day during Shiny Wars is something I never expected to experience. I was in voice chat with my teammates at the time, and everyone completely lost it when each shiny appeared. The excitement just kept building with every encounter. It was one of those moments I'll probably never forget, and without a doubt it's been the highlight of my Shiny Wars experience so far."
Out of all the shinies you caught so far, which one is your favorite?
BraggingKnight: "My favorite has to be Torkoal. It was the shiny I wanted more than any other going into Shiny Wars, so finally finding it was incredibly rewarding. It took me around 27,000 encounters before it finally appeared, and seeing those sparkles after such a long hunt gave me an amazing feeling. All the time and effort I put into hunting it made the catch that much more special."
Do you have any planned shunts for the next season coming up?
BraggingKnight: "I definitely do! My main target for next season is Larvitar, as it's a shiny I've wanted for a long time. After that, I'll be hunting Pikachu, and then Nidorina. Of course, plans can always change depending on how the season goes, but those are the three I'm most excited to hunt."
What was your favorite moment from this week?
BraggingKnight: "Without a doubt, it was finding my shiny Golett just 60 encounters after catching Koffing. I couldn't believe it, and neither could anyone else. I was in voice chat when it happened, and everyone's reaction was priceless. It was such an unexpected moment and one I'll remember for a long time."
What has been your primary shunting technique so far? (Egging, hordes, fishing, etc)
BraggingKnight: "So far, I've mainly been shunting through hordes, with a small amount of egging on the side. I've also been opening Mysterious Balls whenever I get the chance, hoping to hit that small chance of a Shalpha. Hordes have definitely been my main method, though!"
If you could be any Pokémon, which would you be and why?
BraggingKnight: "Snorlax for sure! I'd love the shiny, but that's a tough one to get. So I guess I'd have to settle for being a regular Snorlax and spending most of my time sleeping, eating, and taking it easy!"
Anything else you would like to add before we wrap this up?
BraggingKnight: "A big thank you to the team, especially for all the laughs and joking around in voice chat. And a huge shoutout to HeavyBreading for all the backend work on the website and Pokédex, it makes planning shunts so much easier. And for those of you who are dry, hang in there! My first shiny took nearly 60k encounters, so I know the struggle. It will come eventually, just keep at it!"
Editor's Note This moment will go down in Core history. Also, I'd like to formally announce my new alt: HeavyBreading - HeavyBreathing

As we wrap up the Autumn season of Shiny Wars 2026, both interviews show just how passionate our teammates are. The camaraderie shared in each conversation reflects the drive we have as a collective and how far this team can go together. It's been a tough month for everyone, but through voice chat, Leppa support, charm links, Ditto boxes, and the constant encouragement we give each other, Shiny Wars becomes not only easier, but more enjoyable. With two weeks left to go, no matter where each team lands on the leaderboard, every one of us who's participated deserves a huge pat on the back. Keep shunting, keep supporting, and let's continue to show the rest of the PokeMMO community exactly who we are!

- UnstableTy

Editor's Note

It's been a steady week with a lot of harder shunts but we have had some great moments and strong hits. Crimson Cave is still treating us well and Collective have really stormed up the leaderboard. Winter is next with some really cool shunts - we can do this!
