❓ How do I get a female with Hidden Ability?
✓ You already have a female with HA
You're ready to go, she becomes your chain starter. Tick the HA box and generate your plan.
♂ You have a male with HA (most common situation)
In PokeMMO, a male's HA cannot pass to offspring in normal breeding. The trick is to use a Ditto as the partner, Ditto acts as the "opposite gender", so the male becomes the species parent and his HA can pass through.
  1. Breed your male HA Pokemon x Ditto at the Day-Care.
  2. The HA passes to every egg (100%), since the male is the main parent when paired with Ditto.
  3. You can choose the offspring's gender at the Day Care (paid option). Just select ♀, no need to hatch multiple eggs hunting for a female.
  4. That female is now your chain starter. Use her as the keeper for every step of this breeding plan.
◯ Genderless or male-only species
These species always breed with Ditto anyway. Breed the HA Pokemon x Ditto, the HA Pokemon is the main parent, so HA passes to every egg (100%). You just need the keeper itself to have the HA rather than finding a female.
🛒 Buying from GTL
The easiest path is often to search the GTL for a female of the species with its Hidden Ability already, filter by ability. Prices vary by species popularity but this skips the male to female conversion entirely.
⚠ Remember: throughout your IV breeding chain, the female is always the species keeper (main parent). Make sure she has the HA at step 1, and it will pass to every egg (100%) from then on. For the male-to-female conversion, use the Day Care's gender selection (paid option) so you only need to hatch 1 egg.
❓ How does alpha breeding work?
🔴 Alpha x Alpha = Alpha offspring (with HA)
When both parents are alpha (red outline), the egg will be an alpha Pokemon, it keeps the red outline and will have its Hidden Ability. This is the only way to breed an alpha.
🟡 Alpha x Non-alpha = Non-alpha offspring
If only one parent is alpha, the offspring will not be alpha, but HA still passes normally from the female (main parent).
📋 Normal breeding rules still apply
IV inheritance, Power Items (braces), Everstone, and gender selection all work exactly the same. Every male fodder used in the chain must also be alpha, find them in the wild (look for the red aura) or on the GTL.
⚠ Remember: Your starting female must be alpha. Every male introducer at each step must also be alpha. Alpha Pokemon spawn in the wild with a red outline and always carry their Hidden Ability.
