Crimson Core Guides: E4 Rerun
Elite Four Rerun Guide
Elite Four rerunning is the highest-yield money method in PokeMMO. Each of the five regions has its own 6-hour cooldown, meaning you can run each region up to four times per day. Running all five regions back-to-back once yields 275,000 ¥ base or 412,500 ¥ with Amulet Coin. Unlike trainer reruns (singles), every E4 battle is a 6v6 double battle against Level 80-85 teams, so you need a purpose-built doubles team.
The recommended core is the Volcarona setup (Merckis strategy): Chansey leads with Stealth Rock, Sableye sets dual screens with Prankster priority, and Volcarona stacks Quiver Dance behind screens until it is unkillable. Two alternative approaches are also covered below: Trick Room for players who prefer slow physical sweepers, and Rain Offense for the fastest clear times against Fire and Flying-heavy regions.
Battle Points
Each E4 win awards Battle Points on top of money. BP is spent at the Battle Frontier on rare items including Ability Capsules and exclusive TMs unavailable elsewhere.
No Healing Between Battles
On reruns you fight all 4 members and the Champion back-to-back with no Pokemon Center access. Any damage your team takes carries into the next battle. Build your team to be self-sufficient or bring items to use in-battle.
Money Boosters
Activate your Amulet Coin (x1.5) or Riches Charm (x1.75/x2.0) right before entering the League building, not during team prep. They cannot stack with each other.
| Region | Members | Base Payout | + Amulet Coin x1.5 | + Charm 100% x2.0 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🗺️ Kanto | 4 + Champion | 55,000 ¥ | 82,500 ¥ | 110,000 ¥ |
| 🗺️ Johto | 4 + Champion | 50,000 ¥ | 75,000 ¥ | 100,000 ¥ |
| 🗺️ Hoenn ★ | 4 + Champion | 60,000 ¥ | 90,000 ¥ | 120,000 ¥ |
| 🗺️ Sinnoh | 4 + Champion | 58,000 ¥ | 87,000 ¥ | 116,000 ¥ |
| 🗺️ Unova | 4 + Champion | 52,000 ¥ | 78,000 ¥ | 104,000 ¥ |
| All 5 Regions | 25 battles | 275,000 ¥ | 412,500 ¥ | 550,000 ¥ |
Hoenn is the single best region per run. Run all five daily for maximum income. With Charm 100%, five regions in a day yields over half a million yen.
Three strategies cover every budget and playstyle. The Volcarona setup (Merckis strategy) is the most consistent and item-efficient once built. Trick Room is a strong alternative that completely bypasses the Speed problem of E4 by inverting it. Rain Offense is the fastest clear time and hits neutrally into almost everything Volcarona struggles with.
🦋 Team 1 - Volcarona Setup (Merckis Strategy)
The most reliable and cost-efficient E4 strategy. Lead with Sableye who uses Prankster to set dual screens with priority before opponents can act. Then switch to Chansey and use Stealth rock to negate opponent Focus Sashes, then Teleports out safely to Volcarona. Volcarona comes in fully protected, stacks Quiver Dance boosts, heals with Giga Drain, and becomes effectively unkillable. Can sweep all five regions with just these three Pokemon and limited consumable items per run.
🔁 Team 2 - Trick Room
Trick Room reverses the Speed order for 5 turns, making your slowest Pokemon move first. This completely nullifies the E4's high-Speed threat Pokemon and lets naturally slow but devastating attackers like Conkeldurr and Rhyperior act before anything else on the field. Reuniclus is the ideal setter - Magic Guard means it takes zero damage from hazards, weather, or status, making it near-impossible to revenge kill before it sets the room. Once Trick Room is up, Conkeldurr spams Drain Punch to heal itself while killing, while Rhyperior punishes spread with Rock Slide and Earthquake. This team handles Fire, Water, and Ground types that both Volcarona and Rain teams can struggle with.
🌊 Team 3 - Rain Offense
Politoed's Drizzle ability sets permanent Rain on entry (no turn wasted). Rain doubles the Speed of Swift Swim users, making Kingdra and Ludicolo the fastest Pokemon on the field without any Speed EVs invested. Under Rain, Water moves deal 1.5x damage and Fire moves deal 0.5x, which means you take almost nothing from the Fire-type E4 members. Surf and Hydro Pump hit both opponents as spread moves. This is the fastest clear time of any team for Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh and handles Flash Fire Pokemon cleanly that Volcarona cannot.
Lorelei's Water and Ice types resist Fire moves and wall Volcarona's Flamethrower - Giga Drain or Psychic are better options. Lance's Dragonite teams take heavy damage from Flamethrower and Ice moves. Blue runs a mixed team with wide coverage; Volcarona's Psychic + Giga Drain handles most of it cleanly.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lorelei | Ice | Lapras Lv.82 | Water/Ice types resist Flamethrower. Use Giga Drain (hits Water) or Psychic (hits Ice neutrally). Volcarona at +2 can tank hits and clean up. |
| 2 | Bruno | Fighting | Machamp Lv.82 | Easy. Fighting types are weak to Psychic - Volcarona's Psychic clears cleanly. Conkeldurr (Trick Room) is immune to Fighting damage via Guts + bulk. |
| 3 | Agatha | Ghost | Gengar Lv.82 | Gengar is fast but Volcarona outspeeds at +1. Use Flamethrower - Fire hits Ghost neutrally. Watch for Destiny Bond if Gengar is low HP; switch out to bait it. |
| 4 | Lance | Dragon | Dragonite Lv.84 | Flamethrower clears most of Lance's team. Ice Beam from Kingdra or Conkeldurr's Ice Punch destroys Dragon types. Dragonite's Multiscale halves damage at full HP - Stealth Rock chip breaks it. |
| 5 | Blue Champion | Mixed | Pidgeot Lv.85 | Mixed team with broad coverage. Volcarona's Flamethrower + Psychic handles most members. Rhydon is Ground/Rock type - avoid Flamethrower and use Giga Drain or Surf (Rain team). |
Lowest payout of the five regions but still worth every 6-hour cycle. Will's Psychic and Karen's Dark teams fold quickly to Volcarona's Flamethrower and Psychic. Karen's Houndoom has Flash Fire, so use Giga Drain instead. Lance is the same Dragon specialist as Kanto - Ice Beam from Kingdra or Conkeldurr's Ice Punch handles his Dragonite lineup.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Will | Psychic | Xatu Lv.80 | Easy. Psychic types take neutral from Flamethrower and fall quickly. Volcarona's Flamethrower + Psychic clears the whole bench. |
| 2 | Koga | Poison | Crobat Lv.82 | Crobat is fast but Volcarona at +1 Quiver Dance outruns it. Poison types take neutral from Fire - Flamethrower clears cleanly. Watch for Toxic, which cuts Leftovers recovery. |
| 3 | Bruno | Fighting | Machamp Lv.82 | Easy. Fighting types are weak to Psychic. Volcarona's Psychic handles the whole bench. Conkeldurr (Trick Room) is Fighting-type itself and takes reduced damage from most of Bruno's moves. |
| 4 | Karen | Dark | Umbreon Lv.82 | Umbreon is very bulky - Quiver Dance to +2 before attacking. Houndoom has Flash Fire, do not use Flamethrower; use Psychic or Giga Drain instead. Murkrow is frail and goes down in one hit. |
| 5 | Lance Champion | Dragon | Dragonite Lv.85 | Three Dragonite with Multiscale. Stealth Rock chip breaks Multiscale on entry. Kingdra's Ice Beam or Conkeldurr's Ice Punch destroys the Dragon lineup. Volcarona's Flamethrower works if Multiscale is already broken. |
Highest single-region payout. Glacia is the main challenge - her Hail setter shuts down Volcarona's Flamethrower and Quiver Dance recovery via chip damage. Use Chansey's Sunny Day to override Hail before sending Volcarona in, or pivot to Kingdra (Rain team) who hits Ice types super-effectively with Surf. Steven's Metagross has Earthquake - avoid grounded Pokemon leads.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sidney | Dark | Absol Lv.80 | Easy. Dark types fold to Flamethrower. Absol is fast but frail - Volcarona at +1 outruns it. Shiftry takes super-effective from Flamethrower. |
| 2 | Phoebe | Ghost | Dusclops Lv.82 | Normal-type moves have no effect on Ghost types. Fire hits neutrally - use Flamethrower. Dusclops is very bulky with Eviolite; Quiver Dance to +2 before sweeping to guarantee KOs. |
| 3 | Glacia | Ice | Walrein Lv.82 | ⚠️ Sets Hail, which chips Volcarona each turn and undermines Leftovers recovery. Use Chansey's Sunny Day to override before sending Volcarona in. Water/Ice resist Flamethrower - Kingdra's Surf (Rain team) or Giga Drain hit more effectively. |
| 4 | Drake | Dragon | Salamence Lv.84 | Salamence is fast but Volcarona at +1 Quiver Dance outruns it. Flamethrower handles most Dragon types. Kingdra's Ice Beam or Conkeldurr's Ice Punch are the most reliable Dragon counters. |
| 5 | Steven Champion | Steel | Metagross Lv.85 | Steel types resist Fire - Flamethrower does reduced damage. Metagross has Earthquake which hits grounded Pokemon. Conkeldurr (Trick Room) with Drain Punch handles Steel types cleanly. Giga Drain also works against Armaldo and Claydol. |
Second highest payout. Flint's Fire-type members have Flash Fire - Volcarona's Flamethrower will be absorbed. Use Giga Drain or Psychic for his battle, or swap to Kingdra (Rain team). Bertha's Hippowdon sets Sandstorm, cancelling Rain - Conkeldurr (Trick Room) is the most reliable pick here. Cynthia is the hardest Champion in the game, running a fully balanced team with no exploitable single weakness.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Aaron | Bug | Drapion Lv.80 | Easy. Bug types are weak to Fire - Flamethrower clears most of Aaron's team. Drapion is Poison/Dark with no Bug weakness but takes neutral from Flamethrower and is frail enough to go down in one hit. |
| 2 | Bertha | Ground | Hippowdon Lv.82 | ⚠️ Hippowdon auto-sets Sandstorm, cancelling Rain and chipping Volcarona. Conkeldurr (Trick Room) is the safest pick - weather-immune and hits Hippowdon with Ice Punch. Giga Drain also covers Ground types via Grass. |
| 3 | Flint | Fire | Infernape Lv.84 | ⚠️ Flash Fire members absorb Flamethrower entirely - use Volcarona's Giga Drain or Psychic instead. Kingdra (Rain) is ideal here: Rain halves Fire damage and Surf/Hydro Pump hit hard. Infernape is fast and hits physically. |
| 4 | Lucian | Psychic | Gallade Lv.84 | Gallade is Fighting/Psychic with high Attack. Volcarona's Flamethrower handles most of the bench. Avoid Psychic vs Psychic types - use Flamethrower or Giga Drain on the Psychic members. |
| 5 | Cynthia Champion | Mixed | Garchomp Lv.85 | ⚠️ Hardest Champion. Garchomp is Dragon/Ground with Sand Veil - Conkeldurr's Ice Punch under Trick Room is the cleanest answer. Spiritomb has no weaknesses; use Flamethrower as it has no immunities either. Volcarona at +4 eventually breaks through the whole team. |
Fastest E4 at around 25 minutes. Shauntal's Chandelure has Flash Fire - do not use Flamethrower against it. Use Volcarona's Psychic or swap to Kingdra's Surf. Grimsley's Bisharp is Steel/Dark and 4x weak to Fighting, making it trivial for Conkeldurr (Trick Room). Alder's Volcarona uses Quiver Dance and becomes dangerous at +1 - kill it immediately with Rock Slide (4x Rock weakness) or Kingdra's Draco Meteor.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shauntal | Ghost | Chandelure Lv.83 | 9,800 ¥ | 14,700 ¥ | ⚠️ Chandelure has Flash Fire - Flamethrower is absorbed. Use Volcarona's Psychic or Kingdra's Surf (Rain). Jellicent and Cofagrigus take neutral from Fire; Psychic handles Ghost types well. |
| 2 | Grimsley | Dark | Bisharp Lv.83 | 10,200 ¥ | 15,300 ¥ | Easy. Bisharp is Steel/Dark and 4x weak to Fighting - Conkeldurr's Drain Punch one-shots it. Also weak to Fire; Flamethrower works fine on the rest of the bench. |
| 3 | Caitlin | Psychic | Reuniclus Lv.84 | 10,600 ¥ | 15,900 ¥ | Reuniclus has Magic Guard - Stealth Rock, weather, and status chip will not damage it. Flamethrower and Giga Drain both hit neutrally. Psychic is resisted by Psychic types; avoid it here. |
| 4 | Marshal | Fighting | Conkeldurr Lv.84 | 10,800 ¥ | 16,200 ¥ | Easy. Fighting types are weak to Psychic - Volcarona's Psychic one-shots the bench. Marshal's Conkeldurr is very slow; Volcarona at +1 outruns and KOs before it can move. |
| 5 | Alder Champion | Mixed | Volcarona Lv.85 | 10,600 ¥ | 15,900 ¥ | ⚠️ Alder's Volcarona uses Quiver Dance - kill it before it boosts. Rock Slide (4x Rock weakness) from Rhyperior or Kabutops OHKOs it. Kingdra's Rock Slide also works. Rest of Alder's team folds to Flamethrower and Psychic. |
Stealth Rock on turn 1 - every time
E4 Pokemon commonly carry Focus Sash, which lets them survive any OHKO at 1 HP and retaliate. Chansey's Stealth Rock on turn 1 chips every incoming Pokemon to 50% HP on switch-in, making Focus Sash useless. Skip this step and your sweeper will get hit by a Pokemon that should have been dead.
Know your Flash Fire matchups
Flash Fire absorbs Fire moves completely and actually boosts the user's Fire attacks afterward. Chandelure (Unova), Houndoom (Johto/Karen), and Flint's Fire team (Sinnoh) all run Flash Fire users. Never use Flamethrower into them - switch to Psychic, Giga Drain, Surf (Rain team), or Drain Punch (Trick Room).
Activate booster before entering the building
Amulet Coin and Riches Charm both start their timer the moment you activate them. Equip your booster right before stepping through the League entrance - not during team prep or traveling. You cannot stack both items.
Trick Room resets - don't let it expire mid-fight
Trick Room lasts exactly 5 turns. If it expires while your sweepers are still in battle, the Speed order reverts and your Conkeldurr or Rhyperior will move last. Switch Reuniclus back in before turn 4 and reset the room. The AI cannot reliably prevent this.
Rain Dance as backup if Politoed faints
Politoed's Drizzle sets permanent Rain - but if it faints, Rain expires after 5 turns and your Swift Swim sweepers lose their Speed doubling. Give Ludicolo a Rain Dance slot as a hard reset. Kingdra can also run it as a backup. Without Rain, Kingdra and Ludicolo drop to below-average Speed tiers.
Spend Battle Points on Ability Capsules
BP earned from E4 runs is best spent at the Battle Frontier on Ability Capsules, which switch a Pokemon between its two standard abilities. These are always in demand for breeding and are cheaper to farm this way than buying from the GTS. PP Max and rare TMs are the next best purchases.
